Adults with effects from prenatal alcohol exposure are at increased risk for risky drinking (Baer, Sampson, Barr, Connor, & Streissguth, 2003), and women have been reported to have a poorer quality of life and experience increased psychiatric distress (Grant, Huggins, Connor, & Streissguth, 2005)
