NOFAS International Gala

The 2016 NOFAS International Gala will be held at The Ritz-Carlton, Washington, D.C. on September 27th. Join NOFAS, friends of NOFAS, and leading lawmakers and members of the diplomatic corps to celebrate alcohol-free pregnancies and the achievements of children and adults living with FASD.

Twitter Chat September 13th – Read Transcript

University of Oklahoma Fetal Alcohol Syndrome Awareness

The University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center will present to the Family Drug Court staff and Oklahoma Juvenile Court judges on the symptoms and treatment of FAS. Further, they will provide information on how to refer to the A Better Chance program for evaluation and treatment of children with prenatal alcohol exposure.

MOFAS Golf Classic

For FASD Awareness Day on Sept. 9, MOFAS will be hosting its 9th annual MOFAS Golf Classic. This is their largest fundraiser of the year and they’re thrilled it will be on FASD Awareness Day. So far they have more than 100 golfers signed up! In addition to golf, they’ll also have a silent auction, a raffle, and a dinner (this year’s dinner will feature several videos, including one that was shot of the youth trip to Washington, D.C.). For FASD Awareness Month (September) they’re running promotional spots on their local National Public Radio Station. They’re also planning a strong social media campaign.
Community FASD Training

This is a community training open to the public from Texas Office for Prevention of Developmental Disabilities (TOPDD), featuring two of the state’s experts in FASD: Rajesh Miranda, Ph.D. and Jay Tarnow, M.D. The training will be focused around strategies to support individuals with an FASD and their families! Registration is required.
Continental breakfast, lunch, Social Work CEUs, and Early Intervention Specialists CPEs are included.

Sometimes, I talk to local bars and liquor stores about selling alcohol to visibly pregnant women and if they’ll post Pregnancy and Alcohol w/stages of fetal development.”
3rd Annual FASD Awareness Walk
