Goals
PREVENT – Reduce the incidence of FASD
EDUCATE – Raise awareness and understanding of FASD and the risks associated with alcohol use and pregnancy
SUPPORT – Provide resources and consumer advocacy to individuals with FASD and their caregivers
ADVOCATE – Advance FASD-related policies and legislation seeking recognition and investment
COMMUNICATE – Promote NOFAS, its messages, and the brand
ASSOCIATE – Partner with organizations, individuals, and others to expand the NOFAS reach, grow its constituency and cultivate allies
FUNDRAISE – Diversify the NOFAS funding base and strengthen the organization’s infrastructure
EVALUATE – Conduct quantitative and qualitative assessment of programs and document outcomes
OVERCOME – Diminish the stigmatization of women who drink alcohol while pregnant, individuals and families living with FASD, and addiction

Objectives
PREVENT Reduce the incidence of FASD
Objective 1 – Implement national, statewide, and community-based multi-media universal prevention campaigns
Objective 2 – Implement alcohol screening and brief intervention into clinical practice at heath care delivery sites, and other selective prevention strategies
EDUCATE Raise awareness and understanding of FASD and the risks associated with alcohol use
during pregnancy
Objective 1 – Implement NOFAS curricula for medical and allied health students
Objective 2 – Implement NOFAS curricula in primary and secondary education
Objective 3 – Present practicums, grand rounds and other presentations to health and mental service providers
Objective 4 – Develop, promote, conduct certification training for various audiences
Objective 5 – Facilitate the translation of research to practical application and serve as a liaison from scientists to systems of care and the public at-large
SUPPORT Provide resources to individuals with FASD and their caregivers
