My Baby and Me is a program to help pregnant women stay alcohol-free, and is a partnership between the Wisconsin Department of Health Services (DHS) and the Wisconsin Women’s Health Foundation (WWHF). The goal of the program is to increase the number of women who do not drink alcohol during pregnancy by using a strength-based motivational intervention for behavior change and enhancing prenatal care coordination services.

The goal is to prevent, and thereby break, the intergenerational cycle of substance abuse, teen pregnancy and family violence; to preserve and strengthen the family unit; to prevent out-of-home placement for the children and, as appropriate, to reunify children currently in foster care with their mother. Meta House programs provide a continuum of care that includes outpatient, intensive outpatient, day treatment and residential substance abuse treatment.

The Great Lakes FASD Regional Training Center (GLFRTC) addresses this identified need by providing training for medical and allied health professionals and students throughout the Great Lakes region and beyond on the prevention, identification, and treatment (management) of fetal alcohol spectrum disorders (FASD). The project is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) and housed at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, School of Medicine and Public Health. The project targets the states of Hawaii, Indiana, Minnesota, North Carolina, Michigan, Ohio, and Wisconsin.
