is a repository for case reports on children who are born or reside in New York State and are diagnosed before the age of two years with any structural, functional or biochemical abnormality determined genetically or induced during gestation and not due to birthing events.

New York States project is aimed at reducing the number of FASD related births by eliminating alcohol consumption by women of childbearing age and pregnant women. The New York State Office of Alcoholism & Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) plans to conduct a multi-year, statewide effort to prevent Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders (FASD) through: (1) increased outreach, identification and referral of at-risk pregnant women and women of childbearing years (2) training on FASD for health care professionals working with at-risk women; and (3) increased awareness by women of childbearing years about the dangers of alcohol consumption during pregnancy
