NOFAS Leadership Awards Benefit
The annual NOFAS awards benefit reception will be held in Washington, D.C. on Tuesday, June 21, beginning at 5:00 p.m. United States Senator Lisa Murkowski and Tom and Linda Daschle are hosting the event as Honorary Chairs. Among the honorees are New Mexico Senator Jeff Bingaman, Chairman of the Energy and Natural Resources Committee; Twenty-term United States Congressman Don Young, Chairman of the Subcommittee on Indian and Alaska Native Affairs and co-chair of the Congressional Caucus on Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorders; Dr. Philip A. May, University of New Mexico professor and principal investigator for the Center on Alcoholism, Substance Abuse, and Addictions; and Morgan Fawcett, an FASD advocate and Alaska Native. Rusty Walking Eagle will receive the first Dr. Erin Frey Advocacy Award, named for the former NOFAS program director who passed away this year.
The event will be held on Capitol Hill and hosted by the San Manuel Band of Serrano Mission Indians, 422 First Street, SE, Washington, D.C.
Individual tickets to the benefit are $100 and sponsorships begin at $1,000. Contributions are tax-deductible and may be made here, or by sending a check payable to NOFAS to 1200 Eton Court, NW, Third Floor, Washington, D.C. 20007. The deadline for donor recognition in the event program is June 15, 2011.
