NOFAS Leadership Awards Benefit

The annual NOFAS awards reception will be held in Washington, D.C. on Capitol Hill at the National Guard Association Hall of States (One Massachusetts Avenue, NW) on Wednesday, June 24 beginning at 5:30 p.m. Senator Lisa Murkowski, Congressman Frank Pallone and Tom and Linda Daschle are hosting the event along with NOFAS benefit chairs Kate Boyce, Rob Lively, Tom Rabaut and Ginny Boylan. NOFAS is honoring Claire Coles, PhD, the director of the FASD clinic at the Marcus Autism Center and a professor at Emory University School of Medicine; Barbara Wybrecht, RN, BSN, PHN, an FASD Clinical Nurse Specialist; the Shakopee Mdewakanton Sioux Community for their extraordinary philanthropic support; and Patton Boggs LLP for preparing an Amicus Curiae brief to the Supreme Court of the United States on behalf of NOFAS.

Tickets are $100 and up and sponsorships begin at $1,000. Contributions are tax-deductible and can be made on-line. The deadline for inclusion in the program is June 17, 2009.

Established in 1994, the NOFAS Leadership Award is presented annually to prominent community leaders, and other outstanding individuals and organizations in recognition of their commitment to the fight to prevent alcohol-related birth defects.
