Throughout 2010, NOFAS is celebrating its 20th Anniversary. While constantly striving toward the promise of prevention and the guarantee of services for children and adults living with FASD, NOFAS reflects on its progress and achievements from the past 20 years.
Since 1990, among its many accomplishments, NOFAS has:
- Assisted over 100,000 children and adults with FASD;
- Educated 40,000 medical and allied health students and practitioners;
- Increased public support by 600%;
- Grew the NOFAS Affiliate Network from zero to 24 members;
- Helped to reduce heay and binge drinking by nearly 15%.

Over twenty years, NOFAS has been fortunate to have numerous distinguished members of its Board of Directors and a dedicated and talented staff. First and foremost the vision and ideas of Patti Munter and the support from powerhouse board members Terry Lierman, Kate Boyce, Linda Daschle, Eric Hanson, Tony Podesta, William Kennedy Smith, Theda New Breast, James C. May, Lynne O’Brien, Kate Moss, Lisa Thornton, Leo Jardot, Rob Lively, Larry Rosenthal, Kimberly Teehee, Chris Stearns and Richard McCormick elevated NOFAS and the issue to new heights.
