Prenatal Services

The most important intervention a physician can provide during this period is one that ensures women will not drink during pregnancy.  Further, many women are unaware of FAS and the detrimental effects of drinking during pregnancy.  Women should be educated about the harmful effects of prenatal alcohol exposure and encouraged to abstain from drinking any alcohol for the entire duration of pregnancy.
