The symposium will take place from September 25, 2012 to September 26, 2012. There are solutions to some of the most challenging recovery barriers our clients face. On September 25, learn from Dr. Gabor Mate’, author of several bestselling books on the bio-psychosocial causes of addiction and how those same stressors affect the ability to recover. Dr. Mate’ will be presenting a highly sought after full-day training based on two of his renowned books. He will help with some of the perennial questions: Ever wonder how a client can be doing so well, only to fall back into hard-core active use? Ever wonder how such progress can be made only to find a client has developed multiple, debilitating and challenging physical conditions that challenge her recovery? Ever wonder why a client goes back to environments, people and activities she has previously identified as dangerous and damaging to her recovery? In addition, you will hear women in recovery share their personal stories, a discussion regarding the needs of women in recovery who work in behavioral health, and the Ohio Women’s Network Awards presentation. You will have the opportunity to attend one of several educational three hour workshops focused on issues that are important to achieving success with the women and families you serve.
