The conference will take place from August 21, 2012-August 24, 2012. NSAC highlights include keynote speakers Cassandra Thomas and Donna Brazille. A plenary showcase will feature Heather Jarvis, Jaclyn Friedman, Angela Rose, Tina Frundt, the Empowered Fe-Fees and Scheherazade and Salamishah Tillet. There will be 82 dynamic and invigorating workshops which will address trauma recovery, medical and legal advocacy, sexual assault prevention, social justice, management, a Spanish language track and much more. Seven Leadership Roundtables will provide opportunities for those in underserved communities to dialogue about building leadership in their communities. Registration Fees: NSAC registration fees are $450 for early bird registration before June 29, 2012 and $500 after June 29 and before July 20, 2012. Conference Hotel: Reservations are now being accepted at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel & Towers at 877-242-2558. A room block for NSAC has been reserved for Aug. 21-23 at a rate of $189 plus tax per night. Hotel reservations must be made by 5 p.m. CST July 20, 2012. The conference is featuring an “After Hours” event from 6:00-9:00 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 23. This dinner lake cruise is available to conference participants for an additional $70 which includes dinner and beverages. Continuing Education Credits: The Institute on Violence, Abuse and Trauma at Alliant International University is providing continuing education credits at the conference. There is no pre-registration for continuing education credits. IVAT staff will be on-site to process CEU registration. A $45 fee will be charged for CEUs.
