DESCRIPTION:<p>The Arctic FASD RTC is now offering FASD201 training to comm
 unity professionals\, students\, parents and caregivers\, and all other in
 terested members of the public. All workshops take place at RADACT.</p>\n<
 p><strong>Registration</strong></p>\n<p><strong><em>Registration is requir
 ed.</em></strong></p>\n<p>Please register by noon on the Thursday prior to
  the scheduled workshop. Workshops with fewer than five registrants may be
  subject to cancellation. On-site registrations will be accepted on a spac

 rget Audience</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Health and allied health professiona

 \n</ul>\n<p>These workshops meet the requirements for the State of Alaska’
 s Department of Health and Social Services’ FASD201: Developing Successful
  Interventions and Supports.</p>\n<p>All participants will receive a certi
 ficate upon completion of the workshop.</p>\n<p><strong>Prerequisites</str
 ong></p>\n<p>Prior completion of at least one of the following is required
  prior to attending this workshop:</p>\n<ul>\n<li>FASD101</li>\n<li>FASD F
 oundations</li>\n<li>Online courses on FASDs offered through the UAA Depar
 tment of Psychology/WICHE ICE</li>\n<li>Arctic FASD RTC Comprehensive FASD
  Workshop</li>\n<li>Arctic FASD RTC Train the Trainer Workshop</li>\n</ul>
 \n<p><strong>Learning Objectives</strong></p>\n<ul>\n<li>Describe FASDs.</
 li>\n<li>Identify characteristics of FASDs within all life stages.</li>\n<
 li>Describe the importance of early identification and intervention.</li>
 \n<li>Describe secondary disabilities associated with FASDs.</li>\n<li>Des
 ign intervention strategies to help people with FASDs and their families.<
 /li>\n<li>Discuss treatments and therapies available for individuals with 
 FAS/FASDs.</li>\n</ul>\n<p>The purpose of this activity is to increase nur
 ses’ ability to effectively work with individuals who may be living with a
 n FASD and their families\, and to develop individualized intervention str
 ategies. Criteria for successful completion of this activity include atten
 dance at 100% of the session and active participation in group discussion.
  There is no identified conflict of interest for any planner or presenter 
 involved in this educational activity.</p>\n<p><strong>Continuing Educatio
 n Credits/Contact Hours</strong></p>\n<p>Continuing education (CE) credits
  or contact hours are available through the UAA Center for Behavioral Heal
 th Research and Services (CBHRS).</p>\n<p>Participants will be eligible to
  receive four (4) continuing education (CE) credits/contact hours for the 
 completion of the workshop. The processing fee for these four credits is $
 25.00.</p>\n<p>CBHRS is approved by the American Psychological Association
  to sponsor continuing education for psychologists. CBHRS maintains respon
 sibility for this program and its content. These CE credits may be accepte
 d by several licensing boards and for other professional purposes. Please 
 consult with your licensing board to confirm the acceptance of these credi
 ts.</p>\n<p>This activity has been submitted to the Montana Nurses Associa
 tion for approval to award contact hours. Montana Nurses Association is ac
 credited as an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nu
 rses Credentialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.</p>\n<p>If you wi
 sh to register and receive continuing education credits for completing FAS
 D201\, please print and submit the CE credit form\, along with the $25.00
