DESCRIPTION:<p>The Arctic FASD RTC is now offering FASD201 training to comm
 unity professionals\, students\, parents and caregivers\, and all other in
 terested members of the public. All workshops take place at <a>RADACT</a>.
 </p>\n<h5 align='left'>Registration</h5>\n<p align='left'><strong><em>Regi
 stration is required.</em></strong></p>\n<p align='left'>Please register b
 y noon on the Thursday prior to the scheduled workshop. Workshops with few
 er than five registrants may be subject to cancellation. On-site registrat
 ions will be accepted on a space available basis.</p>\n<p align='left'><a

 h individuals with FASD</li>\n</ul>\n<p>These workshops meet the requireme
 nts for the State of Alaska’s Department of Health and Social Services’ FA
 SD201: Developing Successful Interventions and Supports.</p>\n<p>All parti
 cipants will receive a certificate upon completion of the workshop.</p>\n<
 h4 align='left'>Prerequisites</h4>\n<p>Prior completion of at least one of
  the following is required prior to attending this workshop:</p>\n<ul>\n<l

 ered through the UAA Department of Psychology/WICHE ICE</li>\n<li>Arctic F
 ASD RTC Comprehensive FASD Workshop</li>\n<li>Arctic FASD RTC Train the Tr
 ainer Workshop</li>\n</ul>\n<h5 align='left'>Learning Objectives</h5>\n<ul
 >\n<li>Describe FASDs.</li>\n<li>Identify characteristics of FASDs within 
 all life stages.</li>\n<li>Describe the importance of early identification
  and intervention.</li>\n<li>Describe secondary disabilities associated wi
 th FASDs.</li>\n<li>Design intervention strategies to help people with FAS
 Ds and their families.</li>\n<li>Discuss treatments and therapies availabl
 e for individuals with FAS/FASDs.</li>\n</ul>\n<div>The purpose of this ac
 tivity is to increase nurses’ ability to effectively work with individuals
  who may be living with an FASD and their families\, and to develop indivi
 dualized intervention strategies. Criteria for successful completion of th
 is activity include attendance at 100% of the session and active participa
 tion in group discussion. There is no identified conflict of interest for 
 any planner or presenter involved in this educational activity.</div>\n<h5
 >Continuing Education Credits/Contact Hours</h5>\n<p align='left'>Continui
 ng education (CE) credits or contact hours are available through the UAA C
 enter for Behavioral Health Research and Services (CBHRS).</p>\n<p align='
 left'>Participants will be eligible to receive four (4) continuing educati
 on (CE) credits/contact hours for the completion of the workshop. The proc
 essing fee for these four credits is $25.00.</p>\n<p align='left'>CBHRS is
  approved by the American Psychological Association to sponsor continuing 
 education for psychologists. CBHRS maintains responsibility for this progr
 am and its content. These CE credits may be accepted by several licensing 
 boards and for other professional purposes. Please consult with your licen
 sing board to confirm the acceptance of these credits.</p>\n<p align='left
 '>This activity has been submitted to the Montana Nurses Association for a
 pproval to award contact hours. Montana Nurses Association is accredited a
 s an approver of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Crede
 ntialing Center’s Commission on Accreditation.</p>\n<p align='left'>If you
  wish to register and receive continuing education credits for completing 
 FASD201\, please print and submit the <a>CE credit form</a>\, along with t
 he $25.00 CE processing fee.</p>
